Free resume check
Check readable text, contact details and resume structure before tailoring your resume.

Free. No AI credits. Your text stays on this page; uploaded files are sent only to extract text.
Add at least 80 characters so there is enough experience to compare.
Text checks only, not an ATS pass rate or a hiring prediction. Review the extracted text before using the results.
How to use the free resume check
Paste the text from your resume into the box above, or use a text-based PDF or DOCX when file extraction is available. Check the extracted text before running the checklist. Include your work experience or projects, skills, and education rather than only a short summary. The free resume check looks at the text you provide; it cannot inspect a section that did not extract correctly.
Read each checklist item as a prompt to review the document. A found item means that a recognizable pattern appears in the supplied text. A review item means that the pattern was not found. Neither label is a judgment about your professional ability. If a heading is unusual or a section is missing, inspect the original document before making changes.
What does the resume checklist look for?
The checklist checks for readable text, a contact email, an experience or projects heading, recognizable sections, and examples containing specific quantities. These simple checks help you notice incomplete extraction or an unclear structure before you compare a resume with a job. They do not verify that a contact address works, an employer exists, or a claim is true.
Specific details need context. A number is useful when it explains real scope, effort, or results: how many participants you interviewed, how long a process took, or what changed after your work. Do not add a percentage just to satisfy the checklist. Some valuable work has no numerical outcome; explain your responsibility and result accurately rather than inventing a metric.
Is this an ATS score or an AI resume review?
No. This free resume check uses local text rules, not an employer’s applicant tracking system and not a writing model. It does not measure your chance of an interview, rank you against other candidates, or guarantee that a file will pass screening. Formatting, a particular employer’s requirements, and the quality of your experience need a separate review.
For a specific role, use the resume job matcher to compare its job description with evidence in your resume. For a revised document, use resume tailoring to answer questions, review proposed changes, and export a job-specific version. Those workflows have their own usage rules and quotes; running this checklist does not start a paid AI task.
Compare evidence for a specific jobWhat happens to the text I paste?
The pasted text is checked on this page and is not sent to a writing model for the checklist. An uploaded file is sent to the server only for text extraction. This exercise does not save a resume in your career workspace. Copy any changes you want to keep into your own document before leaving or refreshing the page.
Use the minimum information needed for the review. Avoid government identifiers, payment details, or sensitive information unrelated to a job application. The privacy policy explains how separate account and career features process content when you choose to use them. Your checklist result is a starting point for your review, not a certification of the document.
