THE MATCHING GUIDE

A match should come with evidence.

A useful report helps you decide what to investigate next. Here is how JevJob turns a resume and a job description into a reviewable comparison.

1. Start with your own experience

Paste your resume or upload a text-based PDF or DOCX. Check the extracted text before continuing. Scanned images need to be converted to text first. Confirm your target role, US location and preferred work arrangement yourself.

2. Find openings, or bring a specific role

Job discovery uses JSearch from OpenWeb Ninja. We filter incomplete and duplicate listings and compare up to 20 available jobs. You can also paste one job description into the resume matcher. Listings can change after retrieval; check the original posting before applying.

3. Compare statements you can inspect

An extraction model proposes requirements from the job description and relevant phrases from your resume. The server checks that quoted text exists in the originals. Jev then classifies the relationship between each requirement and its candidate evidence. An unsupported quotation cannot become supporting evidence.

Illustrative example

A role asks for “experience with SQL.” Your resume says “Built weekly reports using SQL.” That is relevant evidence. It does not establish the depth of your expertise or promise an interview.

Five states, with different meanings

Supported
The resume explicitly addresses the requirement.
Partly supported
Relevant experience is present, but some of the requirement remains unaddressed.
Not shown
The resume does not provide relevant evidence. This does not mean you lack the skill.
Conflict
An explicit statement conflicts with the requirement. Check the original context.
Unclear
The evidence or model response is too uncertain to judge.

Evidence coverage is the supported share of requirements that can be evaluated; partial support counts as half. Unclear items are excluded. This is a document comparison, not an ATS score, employer ranking or interview probability.

Keep the decision yours

Check the quotes, add truthful experience that is missing, and apply on the original job site. JevJob does not submit applications or make hiring decisions. It does not rank you by age, name, nationality, disability or other personal traits.
